In the late 1990s, the Memorial and Hermann Systems joined together. Before 1997, the Hermann and the Memorial had 5 hospitals. The combined name “Hermann and Memorial” were used on 4th November 1997. Both of these hospitals were started in the early 1900s. The administration of the Hospital is housed in the Memorial Hermann Tower with the existing System Service Tower.

The combined hospitals of the Hermann Memorial Center i.e. the Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital, and The Woodlands Hospital were named in America’s 50 Best Hospital in the year 2010 and 2011 by HealthGrades.
